Dow crosses 45,000 for first time
The Dow Jones Industrial Average has tallied a major milestone on an otherwise quiet day for markets, topping 45,000 for the first time.
Including Friday, it has been 13 trading days since the Dow crossed its last 1,000 point milestone.
It would be the 3rd fastest 1,000 point milestone on record for the blue-chip average: 33,000 took five trading days to achieve, and 26,000 took eight trading days to achieve.
Home Depot, Inc. added the most points since 44,000.
Amgen Inc. subtracted the most points since 44,000.
If the Dow finishes above 45,000 on Friday, it would mark the 8th 1,000-point milestone of 2024.
