City looks to take control of former Federal Reserve Bank building
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An effort to rehabilitate the former Federal Reserve Bank building at 9th Street and Grand Boulevard in Kansas City is still on.
The vacant and blighted property has been deteriorating in the heart of downtown Kansas City for nearly 20 years.

City officials are frustrated that the owner hasn’t done anything with the building in two decades.

A new ordinance would allow the city to take legal control of the building from the owner and then find a developer to begin repairs.
Mayor Quinton Lucas says the city has done this before with the former Robeson Middle School building.
