Both the Nifty and the Sensex began the trading day on a muted note on July 14, 2026 as investors remained cautious given the fresh US and Iran escalation and surge in oil prices. The Nifty and Sensex declined 0.6 percent at open. The Nifty declined over 100 points and opened at 24,068 and the Sensex declined over 400 points and opened at 77,272.34. Almost all sectoral indices opened weak and began the trading session on a muted note. The Indian rupee weakend by 33 paise, opened at 95.95 to the dollar versus Monday’s close of 95.62 to the dollar.
