Warren Buffett’s Long Alliance With Bill Gates Just Took a Public Hit
Warren Buffett has not included the Bill Gates Foundation on his list of annual donations this year. The decision comes after the Gates’ association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been disclosed.
Warren Buffett’s latest philanthropy plan leaves the Bill Gates Foundation off the list
Warren Buffett has omitted the Bill Gates Foundation from his list of charities where he donates annually. In a statement on Tuesday, the billionaire announced that he will donate about $6 billion to foundations established by his family members. However, Bill Gates’ charitable fund was noticeably absent from Buffett‘s announcement (via AP News).
Buffett has been making annual donations to the Bill Gates Foundation since 2006. The decision to skip the donations to the charity this year was first reported in June. Buffett has reportedly snubbed Bill Gates’ charity this year due to the disclosure of his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Buffett has further announced that he will donate all his remaining Berkshire Hathaway stock to the four foundations established by his family. These charities are the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, founded by Susie Buffett, and Peter and Jennifer Buffett’s Howard G. Buffett Foundation and Novo Foundation.
“Of course, mortality is unpredictable, but my remaining shares will be donated to the four foundations one way or the other by December 31, 2034,” Buffett said on Tuesday. “The goal is to have the grants grow annually to each of the three foundations managed by each of my children, and the annual grant to the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation grow at a somewhat greater rate.”
Meanwhile, Gates has firmly denied having any knowledge about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes in the past. The Microsoft co-founder had previously stated that he only met Epstein in hopes of securing funding for charitable causes.
Speaking with CNBC, Buffett revealed that he hasn’t spoken to Gates since his ties to Epstein came to light. “I don’t want to be in a position where I know things … to be called as a witness,” he said.
