Here's when your final Social Security payments will be made in July

Millions are set to receive their Social Security payments this Wednesday, rounding off the final monthly payments for this July.

On July 22, payments will be issued to recipients born from the 21st to the 31st of the month.

Likewise, if you claim Social Security based on someone else’s employment history, the payment will be made based on the other person’s date of birth.

If payments are late, beneficiaries are advised to wait at least three business days after the expected payment date before contacting the SSA, because bank processing delays can happen.

If your payment still hasn’t arrived after three business days, check your bank account and your My Social Security account before calling SSA at 1-800-772-1213. If you call, follow the prompts for a missing payment.

Before calling the SSA, have your Social Security number, bank account information, the date the payment was due and any recent change of address, bank or representative payee status ready.

You can check whether your Social Security payments are correct by reviewing your My Social Security account to see your monthly benefit amount, earnings history and any deductions.

Benefits are calculated using your lifetime earnings record, so missing or incorrect earnings can reduce your monthly payment.

You should also compare the amount deposited in your bank account with the benefit amount listed in your Social Security award letter, keeping in mind that Medicare premiums, taxes or overpayment recoveries may reduce the final payment. 

If something doesn’t look right, contact the SSA to request a review or recalculation of your benefits.

The full payment schedule for July:

Wednesday, July 1:

SSI recipients will receive their SSI payment.

Thursday, July 2: 

People who started receiving Social Security before May 1997 will be paid on July 2 instead of July 3.

This also includes people who:

• Live abroad

• Are enrolled in Medicare Savings Programs

• Receive both Social Security and SSI. Those in this group will receive their SSI payment on the first of the month and Social Security on the 3rd.

Wednesday, July 8: 

People receiving Social Security retirement, SSDI, survivor or other benefits with birthdays between the first and 10th of the month.

Wednesday, July 15: 

People receiving Social Security retirement, SSDI, survivor or other benefits with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of the month.

Wednesday, July 22: 

People receiving Social Security retirement, SSDI, survivor or other benefits with birthdays between the 21st and the end of the month.
