Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF leads overseas fund-of-funds mutual funds in one-year CAGR returns; delivers 63.2% gain
Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF delivered 63.2% CAGR returns over the last one year and 36.7% CAGR over three years, according to ACE MF data on July 21.

Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF currently leads the overseas fund-of-funds mutual fund category with a one-year CAGR return of 63.2 percent. It is followed by Kotak Global Emerging Market Overseas Equity Omni FOF and Edelweiss Greater China Equity Off-shore Fund, which delivered returns of 48.8 percent and 43.1 percent, respectively, over the same period, according to ACE MF data on July 21.
The ranking considers only schemes with assets under management of at least Rs 1,500 crore. Among the top five funds that meet this criterion, Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF has the largest corpus at Rs 8,267.2 crore.
The benchmark comparison is also important. Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF was ahead of its benchmark by 65.7 percentage points on a one-year basis, with the benchmark returning -2.5%. It was also ahead of its benchmark by 28.5 percentage points on a three-year basis, with the benchmark returning 8.3%.
A different fund moves to the top when the one-month window is used. Axis Greater China Equity FoF leads this comparison with -0.6 percent.
The leadership shifts in the three-month comparison, where Kotak US Specific Equity Passive FOF tops the list with 12.8 percent.
There is no change at the top when the three-year window is considered. Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF remains ahead with 36.7 percent.
The variation across return windows shows why rankings can look different depending on the period being considered. A short-term leader may not always be the same as the fund that has done well over a longer horizon.

What is an overseas fund-of-funds fund?
Funds in the fofs (overseas) category should be assessed against schemes with similar investment mandates. Return comparisons across unrelated categories may not be meaningful because risk, asset allocation and portfolio strategy can differ sharply.
