Markets live updates: ASX set to open higher as Wall Street sees red and Tesla shares plunge
Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!
Adelaide Miller here to guide you through the morning of everything business, finance and economics.
To start with, the ASX is set to open higher, with Futures pointing up +0.8% to 8,839 points.
That’s as Wall Street has closed in the red — I’ll provide a breakdown shortly.
On the agenda today is the latest jobs figures, with the June report set to be released at 11:30am AEST.
Last month, we saw May’s unemployment rate ease slightly in seasonally adjusted terms, slipping from 4.5% to 4.4%.
But in trend terms, the rate picked up a little, recording its highest level in four years.
