Warsh floats fewer Federal Reserve meetings to reduce market dependence

The Federal Open Market Committee is required to meet at least four times a year and has run on the current eight-meeting schedule since 1981. Fewer rate-setting meetings would be a significant change, which is coming after five consecutive years of elevated inflation that have put additional scrutiny on the central bank.
