The six-month return chart for the overseas fund-of-funds mutual fund category is led by Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF, which delivered 41.0 percent. Mirae Asset NYSE FANG+ETF FoF and Edelweiss US Technology Equity FOF occupy the next two positions with returns of 32.0 percent and 23.9 percent, respectively, according to ACE MF data on August 10.
The ranking considers only schemes with assets under management of at least Rs 1,500 crore. Among the top five funds that meet this criterion, Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF has the largest corpus at Rs 7,708.0 crore.
The benchmark comparison is also important. Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 FOF was ahead of its benchmark by 35.7 percentage points on a one-year basis, with the benchmark returning 25.3%. It was also ahead of its benchmark by 12.7 percentage points on a three-year basis, with the benchmark returning 25.1%.
The one-month ranking gives a different reading. Mirae Asset NYSE FANG+ETF FoF is ahead on this measure with a return of 6.2 percent.
The order changes on a three-month basis. Mirae Asset NYSE FANG+ETF FoF delivered the strongest return among these five schemes at 8.7 percent.

What is an overseas fund-of-funds fund?
Funds in the fofs (overseas) category should be assessed against schemes with similar investment mandates. Return comparisons across unrelated categories may not be meaningful because risk, asset allocation and portfolio strategy can differ sharply.
