Indian investors are showing strong appetite for US-listed technology and emerging-sector companies, with Nvidia continuing to lead the list of popular overseas stocks. Data from global investment platforms Appreciate and Vested Finance shows that investor interest is now spreading beyond large technology names to memory, storage, space and defence-related businesses.
The trend comes as Indian investors increasingly use international investing platforms to access US equities and diversify their portfolios.
Nvidia Remains Most Bought US Stock by Indians
Nvidia continues to command the strongest buying interest among Indian investors. On Appreciate, the chipmaker accounts for approximately 20% of the buy orders generated by the platform’s 10 most-ordered US stocks this year.
Its lead is substantial, with Nvidia receiving around 1.6 times the number of orders recorded by the stock in second place. Alphabet, Apple and Tesla are also among the preferred US stocks on the platform.
However, the buying pattern indicates that investor interest is not limited to artificial intelligence and mega-cap technology stocks.
Semiconductor Stocks Dominate Indian Investors’ US Stock Bets
Semiconductor and memory companies have emerged as a major investment theme among Indian investors. Five of Appreciate’s 10 most-ordered US stocks belong to the semiconductor or memory segment, and these companies collectively account for about 51% of orders within that group.
Vested Finance’s six-month data also reflects strong demand for chip and technology companies. Nvidia, Micron, AMD, SanDisk and Broadcom feature among its 10 most popular US stocks, alongside Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Tesla.
SpaceX Becomes Most-Traded US Stock Among Indian Investors Since June Listing
SpaceX has made a strong start among Indian investors despite being listed only since June 12. The company ranks 11th on Appreciate based on its overall number of orders. However, its performance looks much stronger when trading activity is adjusted for the number of days it has been listed. On that basis, SpaceX has attracted more orders per trading day than any of the stocks ranked above it.
SpaceX has also recorded around one-third more trades than Nvidia on Appreciate since its listing, making it the platform’s most-traded US stock during that period.
Vested Finance has also recorded substantial activity in SpaceX. The company represented 3.8% of all stock and ETF trading on the platform since its listing. Its buy-to-sell ratio was 2.41:1, while net accumulation represented 41% of its traded volume.
Micron, SanDisk Lead Memory Stock Trend
Another important trend is emerging within the semiconductor space. Investors appear to be broadening their exposure from companies associated with computing and AI infrastructure towards memory and storage businesses.
On Appreciate, SanDisk, Micron and Western Digital feature among the platform’s seven biggest stock positions this year. Collectively, these three memory and storage companies account for nearly 37% of the money invested across that group.
Vested Finance has also seen Micron move ahead of Nvidia as its leading stock since June. SanDisk, which was not among the platform’s top 10 last year, has now entered the ranking.
Memory and storage companies account for roughly 18% of total stock trading volume on Vested Finance, highlighting the growing importance of the segment.
Space and Defence Emerge as New Investment Themes
The interest of Indian investors is also expanding into sectors beyond traditional technology stocks. Space and defence are emerging as broader themes, with investors showing interest in multiple companies rather than concentrating on a single stock.
SpaceX is one of the key names in this trend, while Rocket Lab has entered Vested Finance’s top 20 stocks. The platform has also recorded interest in a dedicated Defence & Security managed portfolio.
