The stock markets will remain open for trading on Wednesday, August 26. However, the day will be observed as a settlement holiday on account of Eid-e-Milad.
A settlement holiday means trading can take place, but clearing and settlement activities, including the pay-in and payout of stocks and funds, remain closed.
Intraday profits made in the equity segment on August 25 will not be reflected in the account balance on August 26.
Shares purchased on August 25 and August 26 can be sold on August 27.
The currency markets will also remain closed on Wednesday.
The BSE and NSE will otherwise function as usual, with trading continuing normally. Clearing and settlement of trades will remain suspended for the day.
The next stock market holiday will be on September 14 for Ganesh Chaturthi.

8th November, Sunday will be a trading holiday on account of Diwali Laxmi Pujan. Muhurat Trading will be conducted on that day. Timings of Muhurat Trading will be notified subsequently through a circular on the exchanges.

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) will remain open on August 26 for both its morning and evening trading sessions.
