Bitcoin fell 1.6% over 24 hours to $76,890 ahead of the vote. The world’s largest cryptocurrency is still up 31% since the start of July but remains 12% down in 2026.
Ethereum slipped 1.9% to $2,475, and XRP edged 0.2% lower to $1.40. Crypto-exposed stocks also dropped in premarket trading.
The odds of the Clarity Act passing this year fell to 19% on Tuesday, down from 31% on Monday, according to prediction market Polymarket. GOP senators have been making a last-minute push to win Democratic support, but the outcome remains uncertain.
ARK Sells Crypto Stocks Ahead of Vote
Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest sold crypto-related holdings on Monday. ARK’s funds offloaded shares in Coinbase, stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group, CoinDesk owner Bullish, and Ethereum treasury company Bitmine Immersion Technologies.
Coinbase stock was down 3.9% in premarket trading on Tuesday after rallying 9% the previous session. Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, fell 3.8% in premarket after gaining 4.6% on Monday.
ARK’s largest single trade on Monday was the sale of over 322,000 shares of 10X Genomics, worth around $22 million. The firm also sold nearly 38,300 shares of Alphabet, valued at roughly $12.8 million.
ARK Buys Meta and Biotech Stocks
On the buy side, ARK purchased around 11,000 shares of Meta Platforms through its ARKW fund, totaling roughly $7.1 million. The firm also bought shares in Ionis Pharmaceuticals and Guardant Health, continuing its presence in the biotech and healthcare sectors.
ARK also picked up shares of AeroVironment, a defense drone company, while selling Advanced Micro Devices and Amazon stock.
ARK sold around 20,500 shares of AMD for approximately $10.6 million and 20,000 shares of Amazon for around $5.1 million.
The trades point to a broader shift in ARK’s portfolio, moving away from some established tech names while adding exposure to social media and healthcare.
The Senate vote on the Clarity Act is the most immediate market catalyst for crypto. If the bill fails, analysts expect further pressure on Bitcoin and related stocks in the near term.
