Why I Have Continued Investing for 26 Years Despite Constant Failure
Profile
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. Although I entered the Kyushu University School of Medicine, I
dropped out.
After that, I began investing while experiencing various jobs and businesses.
I have 26 years of investment experience. However, I did not succeed in investing from the start.
🔶10 Years of Failure
For the first 10 years after I started investing, it was a series of failures.
Although I tried various investment methods and studied everything,
I could not get results, and in the first 10 years, I incurred
losses on the scale of tens of millions of yen.
Not only did I fail at investing, but I also lost my family, was pushed to the brink mentally, and
even suffered from depression for a period.
I thought about quitting investing many times.
Even so, I could not give up no matter what.
🔶An Encounter That Changed My Life
About 17 years ago, I met a doctor who was running an internal medicine clinic in Ogori City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
That doctor had achieved very significant results in investing as well, and
at the time, he was known as a legendary figure among investors in Fukuoka.
I asked him to teach me how to invest, but
I was refused at first.
Still, I did not give up, and after visiting him repeatedly for about three months,
I was finally able to have him teach me his investment philosophy and methods.
This became a major turning point in my investment life.
🔶My Way of Thinking Changed
Through what I learned from that doctor, I realized that the way of thinking about
investing I had been using until then was fundamentally wrong.
The four concepts I especially want to convey are as follows.
-
Do not force predictions on the market
-
Do not trade based on your own hopes
-
Wait until the decided conditions are met
-
Only trade where the conditions are met
Acquiring this way of thinking has become the foundation of my
investment style ever since.
Since then, I have continued to face the market for many years, and I am still
continuing to trade as an active trader today.
🔶What I Am Conveying Now
In my current activities, I share the failures I have experienced,
the investment philosophy I was taught 17 years ago, and the perspective on the market I have
acquired through 26 years of practice with those who are struggling with investing.
🔶 Final Message
Precisely because I have the experience of losing for a long time myself,
I understand the feelings of those who are not doing well in investing.
I value sharing not only glamorous success stories,
but also my failures.
Just like my former self, I am not doing well at anything,
and I would be happy if my experience could be of any help to those who are struggling.
That is what I think.
