Is the Stock Market Open for Columbus Day? Here’s the Fall and Winter Trading Holiday Schedule

Bond markets will be closed Monday, a partial break for traders to start the holiday schedule for the rest of the year.
Stock markets will remain open on Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day, observed in some places as Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Bond markets will also be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
The next full trading holiday will be on Thursday, Nov. 26, when stock and bond markets will close for Thanksgiving. The stock market will close at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Nov. 27, while bond markets will close at 2 p.m.

Stock and bond markets will close for Christmas on Friday, Dec. 25. The stock market will close at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 24, for Christmas Eve, while bond markets will close at 2 p.m.
Both stock and bond markets will close for New Year’s Day on Friday, Jan. 1. Bond markets will close at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s Eve.
