Cathie Wood Just Bought $27.8 Million of This Tumbling AI Stock

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest increased its holdings in CoreWeave (NASDAQ:CRWV) by purchasing 312,228 shares worth approximately $27.8 million across two trading sessions on Oct. 6 and 7, 2026.
The purchases came through the ARK Innovation ETF and ARK Next Generation Internet ETF, adding to the investment manager’s exposure to the AI computing market. CoreWeave supplies cloud infrastructure used to run artificial intelligence workloads, making its business closely tied to demand for specialized computing capacity.
ARK’s buying activity included 97,639 shares worth about $8.9 million on Oct. 6, followed by another 214,589 shares valued at roughly $18.9 million on Oct. 7. The combined transactions indicate that CoreWeave was a notable target for the firm during the period.
However, the purchases do not remove the risks facing the AI infrastructure provider. CoreWeave’s financing obligations and its dependence on customer contracts remain important considerations for investors assessing its growth prospects.
Wood’s latest transactions offer a fresh indication of ARK’s portfolio positioning, but they do not establish whether the fund expects further gains or plans to continue increasing its stake.
Shares of CRWV fell about 40% over the past year.
