Cathie Wood sells Meta shares after Zuckerberg's big AI launch
ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood is one of the most aggressive investors when it comes to emerging technologies.
Whether it’s cryptocurrency or artificial intelligence (AI), she doesn’t hesitate to bet big. In fact, she is one of the earliest investors in Bitcoin (BTC) and Elon Musk‘s tech babies SpaceX (Nasdaq: SPCX) and Tesla (Nasdaq: TSLA).
But she doesn’t shy away from trimming her stake in a stock if need be, and she did exactly that with Meta Platforms (Nasdaq: META) yesterday even as the tech giant launched new AI products.
Cathie Wood trims stake in Meta
On Oct. 12, ARK Invest sold 4,520 Meta shares worth approximately $3.4 million as Mark Zuckerberg made a major AI announcement.
Meta CEO announced Monday the launch of Muse Wonder models for personal and professional agentic work.
Muse is Meta’s AI agent built to execute multi-step tasks across the internet and apps on the user’s behalf. It can answer questions, complete tasks, browse the web, make purchases, generate images, create documents, set reminders, and track goals.
While Muse Wonder drives fast frontier performance, Muse Wonder Full is its full version.

The latest launches show Zuckerberg is still very much involved in the race with AI giants like Anthropic and OpenAI.
The META stock opened yesterday at $728.50 and hit as high as $752.24 following the announcement. The stock closed Monday at $742.96.
But Wood decided to trim her stake in the company’s stock despite the surge.
Wood sold Meta shares worth $14.3 million on Oct. 8 as well. But these are the only two Meta sales by ARK Invest in recent weeks.
Data from the Cathie’s ARK tracker shows that the investment firm has been loading up on Meta shares for months now.
In fact, Wood’s firm bought $73.6 million in Meta shares last month as the Big Tech company rolled out its flagship Muse AI product.
The META stock was trading at around $760 at the time of writing, up 2.39% in a day.
