AMOM Becomes AIED: Defiance ETFs Introduces the Defiance LLM Catalyst Momentum ETF
MIAMI, Oct. 19, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Defiance ETFs, a leader in thematic and income ETFs, today announced that the QRAFT AI-Enhanced U.S. Large Cap Momentum ETF has been renamed the Defiance LLM Catalyst Momentum ETF and now trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker AIED. The change is effective today and follows Defiance’s appointment as the Fund’s sponsor on July 1, 2026. AIED brings an actively managed, AI-driven U.S. large cap momentum strategy with a live history dating to May 2019 into the Defiance lineup, and pairs it with a new signal: company news read and scored in real time by large language models.
AIED is an actively managed ETF whose investment strategy is enhanced by the use of artificial intelligence: the Fund’s adviser, Exchange Traded Concepts, LLC, uses an investment process based on a proprietary AI security selection program, developed by Qraft Technologies, Inc., that extracts patterns from analyzing data. Qraft, a South Korea-based provider of AI investment systems, has licensed the process to the adviser for purposes of managing the Fund. Effective with today’s name change, the strategy enhances price momentum investing by combining it with real-time information extracted using large language models.
“Momentum has a well-known limitation: it only knows what the price has already done. The strategy behind AIED adds a second input, a large language model that reads company-specific news in real time and scores what it finds, so the portfolio reflects both the trend and what is driving it. We think that is a more complete read on a stock than either signal alone. It runs systematically across U.S. large caps, on a process that has been live since 2019, with the adviser holding full discretion over every trade,” said Sylvia Jablonski, Chief Investment Officer of Defiance ETFs.
The portfolio construction process emphasizes the most persistent and statistically reliable momentum signals, targeting securities that exhibit strong continuation characteristics and high participation in market trends. This is coupled with an AI-driven scoring framework that reads company-specific news and flags developments that are unusually positive or negative. By combining a quantitative momentum factor with a qualitative, real-time news signal, the strategy aims to capture stronger momentum opportunities while staying responsive to changing market narratives.
The two signals do different jobs. The momentum factor is quantitative and price-based: the Fund’s momentum scoring is based on factors including 12-month momentum and risk-adjusted 12-month momentum, with momentum defined as the rate of acceleration of a security’s price. The news signal is qualitative and real-time: it reads company-specific news and flags developments that are unusually positive or negative. The strategy is built to use both, and the adviser retains full discretion over every investment decision for the Fund.
AIED joins a Defiance lineup that spans thematic ETFs in quantum computing, AI infrastructure, drones and modern warfare, and space, along with income and leveraged strategies, and adds an actively managed, AI-driven approach to core U.S. large cap equity exposure. Investment Objective
The Defiance LLM Catalyst Momentum ETF (the “Fund”) seeks capital appreciation.
How AIED Is Built
- The universe. U.S.-listed large capitalization companies, defined as companies whose market capitalization at the time of investment is at or above the minimum market capitalization of a widely recognized large cap index, including common stock, ADRs, and GDRs.
- The momentum screen. The AI system filters the universe into a pool of 100 to 200 stocks using a proprietary momentum factor scoring formula based on factors including 12-month momentum and risk-adjusted 12-month momentum.
- The forecast. Deep learning models estimate each stock’s relative price appreciation over the next four-week investment period, and Bayesian neural networks estimate the uncertainty of that forecast. The top 50 stocks are selected for the Fund’s database.
- The LLM news signal. An AI-driven scoring framework reads company-specific news and flags developments that are unusually positive or negative, so the strategy can stay responsive to changing market narratives while it targets the most persistent and statistically reliable momentum signals.
- The portfolio. The Fund expects to hold 50 companies, weighted by a methodology designed to maximize risk-adjusted return, with a 10% cap on any single company at the time of rebalance and no more than 40% of assets in positions weighted above 5%. The database is refreshed every four weeks.
- Adviser discretion. Exchange Traded Concepts has full discretion over investment decisions and may depart from the AI recommendations, including to address corporate actions, mergers, and spin-offs.

Important Disclosures
Investors should consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of the Fund carefully before investing. This and other important information about the Fund is contained in the prospectus and summary prospectus, which can be obtained by visiting www.defianceetfs.com/aied or by calling 1-855-973-7880. The prospectus should be read carefully before investing.
Investing involves risk. Principal loss is possible. The Fund is actively managed and may not meet its investment objective based on the Adviser’s success or failure to implement investment strategies for the Fund. The Fund’s principal investment strategies are dependent upon the use of Qraft’s proprietary artificial intelligence security selection process and, as a result, the Adviser’s skill in understanding and utilizing such processes. The achievement of the investment objective of the Fund cannot be guaranteed and the Adviser’s management of the Fund may not produce the intended results.
Models and Data Risk. The Fund relies heavily on a proprietary artificial intelligence selection model as well as data and information supplied by third parties that are utilized by such model. To the extent the model does not perform as designed or as intended, the Fund’s strategy may not be successfully implemented and the Fund may lose value. If the model or data are incorrect or incomplete, any decisions made in reliance thereon may lead to the inclusion or exclusion of securities that would have been excluded or included had the model or data been correct and complete.
Non-Diversification and Sector Focus Risk. The Fund is non-diversified, meaning that, as compared to a diversified fund, it can invest a greater percentage of its assets in securities issued by or representing a small number of issuers, and the performance of those issuers can have a substantial impact on the Fund’s performance. The Fund may invest a significant portion of its assets in one or more sectors and thus will be more susceptible to the risks affecting those sectors. The value of stocks of technology companies and companies that rely heavily on technology is particularly vulnerable to rapid changes in technology product cycles, rapid product obsolescence, the loss of patent, copyright, and trademark protections, government regulation, and competition.
Portfolio Turnover Risk. The Fund’s investment strategy is expected to result in high portfolio turnover, which may result in increased transaction costs and may lower Fund performance.
Large-Capitalization Company Risk. Returns on investments in securities of large companies could trail the returns on investments in securities of smaller and mid-sized companies or the market as a whole. Large-capitalization companies may be relatively mature and unable to respond quickly to new competitive challenges.
Smaller Fund Risk. A smaller fund is subject to the risk that its performance may not represent how the fund is expected to or may perform in the long term, and may not attract sufficient assets to achieve investment and trading efficiencies. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve an economically viable size, in which case it could ultimately liquidate.
Additional principal risks include, among others, common stock risk, cybersecurity risk, depositary receipt risk, issuer-specific risk, limited authorized participants, market makers and liquidity providers risk, market risk, operational risk, and trading risk, including that Shares may trade at prices above or below NAV. Please see the prospectus for a complete description of the principal risks.
Effective October 19, 2026, the Fund changed its name from the QRAFT AI-Enhanced U.S. Large Cap Momentum ETF to the Defiance LLM Catalyst Momentum ETF and its ticker from AMOM to AIED, and its principal investment strategies were restated to add a large language model news signal. On that date, the Fund’s policy to invest at least 80% of its net assets in U.S. large capitalization companies was replaced with a policy to generally invest, under normal circumstances, in securities of U.S.-listed large capitalization companies.
