Last week, Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest reduced its exposure to Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ:AMD) by selling 59,000 shares valued at $32.6 million. The transaction comes as investors prepare for the chipmaker’s upcoming quarterly results.
AMD has gained about 160% in 2026, making it a significant contributor to Ark’s portfolio performance. The latest reduction follows earlier sales this year, although the stock remains among the fund manager’s notable semiconductor investments.
Ark also cut its position in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing by $24.6 million. The proceeds helped finance purchases in other technology-related businesses, including $23.3 million of Teradyne shares and $19.2 million of AeroVironment stock.
AMD’s earnings report remains a key event for investors assessing whether its recent rally can continue. Analysts expect the company to post earnings per share of $1.94 on revenue of $13.08 billion.
Investors will also watch updates on AMD’s Helios rack-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure, which could influence expectations for its competitive position in the AI accelerator market. The results may provide further insight into demand for its data center products.
