Dow remains on track for biggest post-election gain in over a century
All three major U.S. stock indexes remained higher as of Wednesday afternoon trading in New York, led by a 1,361-point jump in the Dow Jones Industrial Average that would be the biggest post-election gain in more than 100 years.
The Dow was up 1,361 points, or 3.2%, at roughly 43,583. It was on pace for its largest gain following a U.S. election since November 1900.
The S&P 500 was up 121 points, or 2.1%, at around 5,904.
The Nasdaq was up 443 points, or 2.4%, at 18,882.
Both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq were headed for their largest post-election gains since November 2020.
