The Dow Falls 360 Points. Odds of December Rate Cut Slide.
The Dow extended its slide on Tuesday as odds of a December interest-rate cut dipped again with key inflation data looming.
The Dow was down 361 points, or 0.8%. The S&P 500 was down 0.6%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.5%.
Treasury bond prices were falling, sending yields higher. The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was up to 4.359%. The 10-year yield was up to 4.437%, its highest level since July, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
