Reliance Industries To Invest ₹65,000 Crore In Andhra Pradesh To Set Up Compressed Biogas Projects
In a landmark move to advance Andhra Pradesh’s clean energy initiatives, the state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Reliance Industries Limited, securing an investment of ₹65,000 crore for establishing compressed biogas (CBG) projects. Reliance plans to build 500 advanced biogas plants across Andhra Pradesh over the next four to five years, utilizing available wastelands to support clean energy production. Each plant will require an investment of ₹130 crore, contributing significantly to the state’s financial growth and employment.The MoU signing, witnessed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, underscores Andhra Pradesh’s position as a premier investment destination, reinforced by its new industrial policies. The AP government’s Clean Energy Policy 2024 aims for ₹10 lakh crore in green investments.
