Australia likely spared in Trump trade war (for now)
Washington | Australia is likely to be exempt from Donald Trump’s looming tariff war that is already targeting China, Mexico and Canada because of the country’s trade surplus with America, a former top US trade official said.
The president-elect fired the first salvo in his trade war on Tuesday AEDT, vowing to impose big tariffs on America’s three largest trading partners, a move that roiled global currency and bond and equity markets overnight.
