Good news for citizens, the dates and maximum amounts of Social Security payments in February 2025 are confirmed
Beneficiaries will receive their February 2025 payments based on their birth dates, with the schedule as follows:
- February 12: Payments for those born between the 1st and 10th of the month
- February 19: Payments for those born between the 11th and 20th of the month
- February 26: Payments for those born between the 21st and 31st of the month
For Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients, the payment for February 2025 will be distributed on January 31, 2025, due to February 1st falling on a weekend.
The maximum Social Security retirement benefit payable in 2025 varies depending on the age at which an individual retires:
- For those retiring at full retirement age in 2025, the maximum benefit will be $4,018 per month
- If retiring at age 62 in 2025, the maximum benefit will be $2,831 per month
- For those delaying retirement until age 70 in 2025, the maximum benefit will reach $5,108 per month
These amounts reflect the 2.5% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) announced for 2025, which aims to help beneficiaries keep up with inflation. This increase will affect more than 72.5 million Americans receiving Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income payments.
For SSI recipients, the monthly maximum Federal amounts for 2025 are:
- $967 for an eligible individual
- $1,450 for an eligible individual with an eligible spouse
- $484 for an essential person
