Domestic Mutual Funds (DMFs) have increased their share in Indian equity markets, with their ownership in NSE-listed companies reaching a high of 10 percent in December 2024.
According to the latest India Ownership Report by the National Stock Exchange (NSE), mutual funds now own 12.2 percent stake in Nifty 50 firms, 10.5 percent in Nifty 500, and 10 percent in the overall universe of NSE-listed companies.
Further, individuals, both directly and through mutual funds, now own a record-high 18.2%
