EPFO board meet news LIVE updates: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has set the interest rate for the financial year 2024-25 at 8.25%, according to sources. The decision was made during the central board of trustees (CBT) meeting on Friday, February 28.

Following the CBT’s decision, the proposed interest rate will be sent to the Ministry of Finance for approval. Once ratified, the new rate will be credited to the accounts of over seven crore EPFO subscribers.

Last year, EPFO raised the interest rate to 8.25% for FY24, marking a three-year high. In comparison, the rate was 8.15% in FY23 and 8.10% in FY22.

The lowest interest rate in recent history was 8.10% in 2021-22, the lowest since 1977-78, when it stood at 8%.
