Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The Indian stock market ended little changed on Monday (March 3) following a highly volatile trading session. The benchmark Nifty 50 closed 5 points lower at 22,119, while the Sensex slipped 112 points to 73,086.
Banking stocks saw weakness, with the Nifty Bank declining 230 points to 48,114. However, broader markets rebounded sharply, with the Nifty Midcap index recovering over 1,100 points from its intra-day lows to close 69 points higher at 47,984.
Auto stocks saw a mixed trend as companies reported February sales data. M&M, Escorts Kubota, Eicher Motors, and TVS Motors gained after exceeding estimates, while Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, and Tata Motors declined following weaker-than-expected numbers.
UltraTech Cement saw buying interest following positive management commentary, while capex-linked stocks, including Cummins India, Siemens, and ABB, featured among the top midcap gainers.
Realty stocks also saw strong buying, with Prestige Estates and Godrej Properties among the top performers. Aditya Birla Real Estate surged 7% after the company launched a new residential project.
