The BOE’s Bailey said he doesn’t support mandating pension funds to invest in UK assets.

He said that reforming the UK pension system will require “a lot of heavy lifting” but that the work needs to be done.

Mandating isn’t the way to do it, he said, but he said that hopefully reforms being made will mean that a “natural” improvement in how much pension funds invest in UK assets will materialise.
