Energy Is Taking a Hit Today. Oil Prices Are Lower.
Oil prices and energy-related stocks were down across the board on Monday morning.
WTI crude prices, the U.S. benchmark, are down 0.1% today to $64.27 a barrel. WTI is down 8.4% this year. The S&P 500 energy sector is the biggest loser of the day so far, down 1.1%. The next big decliner is information technology, down 0.5%.
Major energy stocks that are widely watched to get a pulse on the health of the sector, Haliburton, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Exxon Mobil, Chevron, were all down by 1% to 2%.
