Three ASX stocks to buy up for investors who love dividends
A year-long sharemarket run has lifted returns across the board, but it’s also left investors facing a curious challenge: finding companies paying good dividends compared to their stock price.
The combined dividend yield – the dividend per share divided by the price per share – of the 200 largest companies on the ASX hit a record low of 3.1 per cent at the end of August, well below its average of 4.4 per cent over the last decade. To make matters worse, that is under both the risk-free 10-year government bond rate and the cash rate.
