WWE Reportedly Has Major Plans for Wrestling Legend’s Return
A major update has emerged regarding potential WWE plans for Chris Jericho, should he return to the company. The speculation of a WWE comeback has intensified in recent months, and a new report details what the company has in mind for the wrestling legend.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s intention is to bring Jericho back for a final run that would culminate in a Hall of Fame induction. The report follows fan chants for Jericho at the Crown Jewel premium live event in Perth, Australia, on October 11.
Meltzer noted that while the chants were a nice gesture from the fans, they will not alter the company’s existing creative direction for the former champion.

“The WWE fans at Crown Jewel in Perth did him a hell of a favor although from those in WWE, they said the Perth crowd made no difference and that they are of the impression it won’t change creative plans and the idea is that Jericho is coming for a retirement tour and Hall of Fame induction,” Meltzer wrote.
Further fueling the speculation, Jericho recently announced the initial lineup for his 2026 “Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea” cruise, and for the first time, no AEW talent was included in the announcement. This omission was quickly pointed out by fans as a potential sign of his future plans.
Jericho has been on hiatus from AEW television since April of this year. After losing the ROH World Championship, he disbanded his Learning Tree faction and announced he would be stepping away for a while. If the plan for a Hall of Fame induction comes to fruition, Jericho would join Stephanie McMahon, who has already been announced as the first inductee for the Class of 2026.
The potential return of Chris Jericho comes at a time of major change on Monday Night Raw. Following a legitimate injury to Seth Rollins, the World Heavyweight Championship is now vacant. With top stars like new number one contender CM Punk and Bron Breakker vying for the top spot, a returning Jericho could immediately insert himself into the main event picture and the tournament to crown a new champion, adding another layer of intrigue to the road to Survivor Series: WarGames.
