The news was confirmed after the Portuguese superstar made the comments on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored talk show, broadcast in the United Kingdom.
During an interview with broadcaster Morgan, the football star revealed that he doesn’t expect his history-making career to last much longer.
Ronaldo also admitted that his interests in retirement will ultimately lie outside the sport he has dedicated his life to.
The news just came after the Portuguese icon had been billed as ‘perfect’ for a role upstairs at former club, Manchester United.
The 40-year-old forward still has a contract with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League until the end of 2027.
While he was asked outright about eventual retirement, he immediately responded ‘soon’, revealing he has been thinking about how it will go for years.
“I think I will be prepared. It will be tough, of course. It will be difficult, yes. Probably I will cry, yes…,” expressed Cristiano Ronaldo upon retirement plan.
He further expressed, “It will be very, very difficult but I’ve prepared for my future since I was 25, 26, 27 years old. So, I think I will be capable of supporting that pressure.”
“Nothing will compare to the adrenaline we have for football to score a goal, “but the football champ reveals that he has other plans to do after retirement.
He said he wants to spend more time with family, learn skills from YouTube, and do funny things he has not done before.
“I have other passions too. When I retire, I’m going to have more time for myself, more time for my family, and to raise my kids in a better way. I will also have my own hobbies as I like to watch UFC fights, I like padel and I want to learn more about my companies,” said Ronaldo.
“I’ll never be a full-time YouTuber, of course, but I want to be there. I’m going to spend more time on that to learn. I think I’m going to do funny things and things I’m not used to doing before. Because I live football 24 hours each day to do the right things and perform,” Ronaldo added.
The Al-Nassr striker is the all-time leading goal scorer with 952 goals for club and country combined.
