Trump’s trade war backfires as Australian exports to the US surge
Australian exports to the United States have surged 20 per cent over the past year, defying concerns that Donald Trump’s tariffs and unpredictable decision-making would disrupt trade with this country’s closest ally.
Australian businesses sold a record $6.9 billion of goods to the United States in the three months to September, up from $5.8 billion one year earlier, according to analysis by The Australian Financial Review of figures from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
