Will Warren Buffet's March Madness bracket challenge continue in 2026?
Warren Buffett’s long career at Berkshire Hathaway has ended, but his bracket challenge lives on.
Buffett officially stepped down as CEO on Jan. 1 from the holding company, which he had led for 60 years. However, the company will continue to offer lucrative bracket prizes for its employees, it told Front Office Sports in a report from December.

Historically, Buffett offered a $1 million prize to anyone who could manage a perfect bracket entering the Sweet 16. No one ultimately claimed that prize, though he offered a $100,000 consolation prize to whoever had a perfect bracket the longest.
This past season, Buffett eased the rules, offering $1 million to anyone who could get 30 of the first 32 games right, which resulted in the prize being awarded to an employee who got 31 of 32 games correctly and stayed perfect longer than any other participant.
The odds are stacked against perfection in March, but the shot at $1 million for Buffett’s (now former) employees remains.
