Malaysia benefitting from capital reallocation driven by Iran war: Former Trade Minister
Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and Malaysia’s former trade minister, notes that capital inflows into Malaysia remain resilient despite the Iran war. However, he warned the country is not immune to global shocks from the Iran war given its open, trade-dependent economy. He also acknowledged concerns from data center investors over energy security, but said the government is committed to supporting the industry sustainably.
