49ers' George Kittle plans to leave NFL for WWE when 'it hurts to put pants on in the morning'
George Kittle hopes to play in the NFL for a bunch more seasons.
But when retirement comes for the San Francisco 49ers superstar tight end, he knows what he wants to do next.
Kittle wants to be a part of WWE.
“I would love to do WWE,” Kittle said on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast. “I think there’s definitely opportunity within that world, and I would love nothing more than to be a part of it. My only question mark with that is I so much love being a fan of WWE. I would only do WWE if I bought a ring and practiced my ass off for a long time, so I wouldn’t look like an idiot out there. I’ve been in a WWE ring like three times. I don’t know what I’m doing out there. I have an understanding of how it works, but I haven’t moonsaulted off the top rope at WrestleMania like Pat McAfee did.”

Kittle is 31 years old, and his record contract with the 49ers will take him through 2029.
Even then, he’s not sure that would be the end to his NFL career.
How long does Kittle plan on playing? “Until I don’t have fun anymore,” he said.
“Or if [wife] Claire looks at me and goes, ‘You kinda look like s— out there; you should retire‘. I’ll be like, ‘All right.’ I don’t know,” Kittle said. “I think if I get to 35, and it hurts to put pants on in the morning, I think I’ll be like, ‘Ah, this isn’t that much fun anymore,’ and I’ll have a conversation with myself. But I’m feeling great right now.”
Kittle is a six-time Pro Bowler and is widely regarded as the best blocking tight end among this generation’s great pass-catching TEs.
The 49ers are coming off a disappointing season, but they dished out big extensions this offseason for Kittle, Brock Purdy and Fred Warner. They have their core, and they’re hoping to get back to the playoffs and make some noise, especially with Kittle committed to being around for the foreseeable future.
