After Politics, Amit Shah Plans Life Of Vedas, Upanishads And Natural Farming
Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered a rare personal insight into his post-political aspirations, revealing plans to dedicate himself to vedas, Upanishads and natural farming after retirement.
Known for his tireless work ethic and central role in the BJP, Shah shared his thoughts during an interaction with women and activists from Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, India Today reported.
“I have decided that after retirement, I will dedicate the rest of my life to the Vedas, Upanishads, and natural farming,” Shah said.
While he did not elaborate on the scriptural studies, he advocated for chemical-free farming, asserting its health and ecological benefits.
“Wheat grown with chemical fertilisers often leads to cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, and thyroid issues,” he said at the Sahkar Samvaad in Ahmedabad.
“Eating food free from chemical fertilisers means you may not need any medicines,” Shah added.
He added that natural farming has led to a 1.5 times increase in yield on his own farm and emphasised its role in conserving rainwater.
“With natural farming, not a single drop of rainwater runs off—it seeps into the soil,” he said.
Shah also expressed concern over the decline of earthworms, calling them “nature’s own fertiliser factories,” now harmed by synthetic fertiliser.
Reflecting on his tenure, Shah said the Cooperation Ministry holds special meaning for him.
“It serves the farmers, the poor, villages, and animals,” he noted.
The event also featured testimonials from women cooperative workers, underscoring the transformative role of grassroots initiatives.
