Agility Global ‘focusing’ investments on Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam: Chair
Agility Global is focusing its multi-billion investments in Saudi Arabia on Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, said Chairman Tarek Sultan.
In an interview with Argaam on the sidelines of the inauguration of the company’s complex in Al-Mahjar District, Jeddah, Sultan explained that the company’s subsidiaries have investments across all regions of the Kingdom in logistics services, aviation companies, and Shukran” Co., in addition to a wide range of other investments in Saudi Arabia.
He pointed out that the inauguration of the Agility Logistics Park in Jeddah complements the company’s projects in the Kingdom, after it commenced operations in Riyadh and Dammam.
The project is highly significant, as Jeddah has become a global trade hub. The challenges caused by the Red Sea closure have led international companies to rethink how they serve their customers in Europe and beyond, resulting in strong demand from these companies to establish their operations in the region, according to the top official.
He noted that the project consists of six warehouses of the same size, forming part of the company’s strategic plan, expecting three to four new projects to be launched in the coming period.
Sultan also emphasized that the government sector is showing great interest in developing this field, highlighting that the Minister of Transport is demonstrating clear commitment. He added that the ongoing government projects —whether in railways or airports—represent a major qualitative leap across the Kingdom.
According to data available with Argaam, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser inaugurated, on Nov. 16, the Agility Logistics Park Jeddah, with SAR 611 million worth of investments injected by Agility Logistics Parks (ALP) — the private-sector owner.
Covering a land area of 576,760 square meters (sqm), the Agility Logistics Park Jeddah features a built-up area of more than 338,000 sqm. It is located in Al Mahjar, just 11 kilometers (km) from Jeddah Islamic Port and 15 km from downtown.
