Veteran Hollywood star has announced that he is set to appear in the latest installment of Marvel’s Black Panther.
Denzel Washington’s role in Black Panther
The award-winning actor confirmed that a role is being created for him in Black Panther 3 as he approaches his final acting roles before retirement.
His comments speaking to Australia’s Today Show also confirmed to fans that a third installment of the blockbuster movie is in the works.
“At this point in my career, I’m only interested in working with the best as I do not know how many more films I will make, probably not that many,” Washington said.
The Hollywood icon listed various movies he is set to appear in before retiring from the industry.
“I have some really great directors I’ve been talking to and look forward to working with.”
“I want to do things I haven’t yet done. I played Othello at 22, and now I’m playing Othello at 70. After that, I’m playing Hannibal, and I’ve been talking to Steve McQueen about a film. Then, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next Black Panther. After that I’m going to retire,” he said.

Lupita Nyongo’s tribute to Chadwick Boseman
In other news, TUKO.co.ke previously reported Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o paying an emotional tribute to her late Black Panther co-star, Chadwick Boseman during a heartfelt Q&A at the BFI London Film Festival.
The audience was shown a clip from the 2018 film in which Lupita played Nakia opposite Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa.
Struggling to contain her emotions, Lupita shared that she hadn’t revisited the film since Boseman’s passing, admitting that the grief from losing him was still very raw.
