Dow and S&P 500 Set New Records Ahead of Inflation Report
The stock market kept up its record-setting ways as Wall Street awaited the latest report on the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 124 points, or 0.3%. The S&P 500 was up 0.6%. It’s riding a seven day winning streak. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6%. The Dow and the S&P both marked closing highs.
The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was unchanged at 4.251%, but the 10-year yield was up to 4.301%. Because the 10-year yield moved back above the 2-year yield, the so-called yield curve is no longer inverted.
