Dow Drops 500 Points. Stocks Start September With a Slump.
Wall Street’s return from the long weekend began with a bout of stock market selling.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 530 points, or 1.2%. The S&P 500 was down 1.4%. The Nasdaq Composite slid 1.8%.
The yield on the 2-year Treasury note was up to 3.67%. The 10-year yield was up to 4.28%.
