Dow Falls 200 Points. Wall Street Lowers Rate-Cut Expectations.
The stock market slipped again on Thursday after Wall Street dialed back rate-cut expectations in the wake of the latest inflation data and comments from Fed Chair Jerome Powell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 208 points, or 0.5%. The S&P 500 dropped 0.6%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 0.6%.
The producer price index for October rose 0.2%, which was in line with the consensus among economists. The core PPI, which excludes food and energy, was up 0.3%.
