Dow Jones Industrials Notches First Record Close of This Year
A blistering cross-asset rally drove the Dow Jones Industrial Average to close at an all-time high for the first time since December as the staid blue-chip gauge finally caught up to the riskier corners of the stock market.
The 30-member index, comprised of household names such as Goldman Sachs Group Inc., McDonald’s Corp. and JPMorgan Chase & Co., jumped 1.9% on Friday to close at 45,631.74. That topped the gauge’s last closing record of 45,014.04 in December.
