Dow soars to fresh record, on pace for largest post-election gain since 1900
Donald Trump’s return to the White House as U.S. president was boosting the stock market on Wednesday morning.
The Dow was jumping over 1,200 points, or nearly 3%, on pace for its largest post-election gain since 1900, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were up 1.6% and 1.7%, respectively, with both on track for their best post-election day since 2020.
Small-cap stocks were also soaring in what could be their biggest post-election advance on record. The Russell 2000 index was rising 4.2%, outpacing the broader market, according to FactSet data.
