Energy Stocks Are Leading the S&P 500. They're Near a Breakout, Technical Analyst Says.
The stock market was rising ahead of Nvidia’s big earnings report, but energy stocks were leading the pack.
With the S&P 500 up 0.3%, the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund, or XLE, was leading the other major SPDR S&P sector funds with a gain of 1.3%. WTI crude oil futures were up 1.3%.
No other major S&P sector was up more than 0.5%., while four were pretty much flat.
