Gold vs. crypto: Which should investors own in debasement trade?
00:00 Speaker A
Lisa, on this debasement trade, uh, one, are you more inclined A to play it long still, uh, or do you think it’s a little bit long in the tooth? And if you are still bullish on this or bullish, uh, on it at all, where’s the best bet here? Is it gold or crypto? Or do you have to be in both of them?

So, I think overall, I mean, a gold is doing a great, a great, uh, uh, a job of being a safe haven asset over the last couple of days, right? Um, I think, um, and I might talk a little bit about my book. I manage a precious metals portfolio, but I think it should be part of every investor’s portfolio. And given that gold, uh, performed over 50%, uh, year to date, uh, over $4,000 per ounce, um, uh, a new all-time high.

I think we have some tailwinds here. Um, we have a weakening dollar, we talked about that. We have continued, um, expectations for interest rate cuts, which is also usually conducive for the, uh, for gold. We have, uh, a lot of uncertainty still. We had a lot of that already where part of it why gold performed so well, and we still face that going forward. So I think there’s still a lot of tailwinds where gold can perform well in an investor’s portfolio as a diversification, um, also together with Bitcoin.

I think it’s not an either or, it’s a together, um, and as Chen said, the one a little bit more risky, the other one a little bit more, uh, conservative, but they both can continue to do well, um, um, um, to kind of diversify an investor’s portfolio.
