Gov. Evers discusses investing in the UW-System
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Governor Tony Evers made a stop in Eau Claire Monday morning, as he tours the state to highlight his executive and capital budget investments.
Evers detailed his budget proposal last month, where he called 2025 “The Year of the Kid.” That’s why he visited the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to talk about investments being made to repair, renovate, and replace existing facilities on the campus.
On top of large-scale projects like the new science building, Evers looked at smaller projects too, like one that would help students with disabilities access services that were previously only on the second floor.
In Evers’ budget proposal, he includes a $856 million investment into the UW-System over the next two years. That would be the largest increase in the system in state history.
