Hillwood’s AllianceTexas Smart Port Receives $80 Million Grant From USDOT
AllianceTexas has been awarded $80 million from the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America grant program. In partnership with not only Hillwood, but also the cities of Fort Worth and Haslet, Texas Department of Transportation, and the North Texas Council of Governments, the funds will go towards launching AllianceTexas’ Smart Port, a 27,000-acre master-planned, mixed-use development.
“AllianceTexas is poised to redefine what it means to be a modern logistics hub,” Hillwood Chairman and CEO Ross Perot Jr. said. “By integrating automation and forward-looking technologies through this grant, we will not only strengthen the national supply chain but also set a global benchmark for resilience and efficiency in port operations.”
The $262 million public-private partnership, with $96 million of private sector investment, will connect the AllianceTexas Inland Port, the 15th largest in the country, to the Dallas-Fort Worth regional transportation network. The Smart Port was one of 44 projects chosen nationwide and the only from Texas.
“The AllianceTexas Smart Port, a $262 million public private partnership, allows our supply chain to function more efficiently and more reliably than it ever has before and provide greater safety and reduced congestion on our state’s highway network,” TxDOT Executive Director Marc Williams said. “The project ties into the National Highway System, which includes the 865-mile Texas Connected Freight Corridor and its critical corridors I-35 and I-45.”
Climate Commodities Scores $500 Million Renewable Energy Infrastructure Partnership
Climate Commodities, along with Archetype Energy and Green Bridge Energy, have entered into a $500 million renewable infrastructure investment in programmatic financing for middle-market renewable energy projects.
“Our combined expertise and proven track records make us uniquely qualified to execute and scale decentralized renewable energy infrastructure projects,” Climate Commodities CFO John Jose said. “This collaboration enhances our ability to serve the rapidly expanding clean energy market while solidifying our commitment to driving the energy transition forward.”
The partnership will look to streamline the deployment of decentralized renewable energy infrastructure to address increasing demand from municipalities, corporations, and large-scale reshoring projects. It will also offer turkey project development and finance solutions for independent developers to address a gap within the sector.
“For many years, the commercial and industrial segment of the renewable energy market has not been viewed as broadly investable, but with the right approach and the right partners, we are changing that,” Green Bridge Energy CEO Byrne Huddleston said. “We are confident this strategic partnership will allow us to continue our momentum and give the C&I segment a massive boost.”
Data and Risk Intelligence Company Conflixis Raises $4.2 Million in Seed Funding
Conflixis, a company working in data and risk intelligence, has received $4.2 million in seed funding for its Conflixis Risk Platform in the healthcare industry. The platform takes conflict of interest management and mixes it with proprietary risk models and advanced analytics for health systems.
“The Conflixis Platform helps large healthcare organizations identify and understand the role that conflicting financial relationships play in medical and operational decisions,” Conflixis CEO Aaron Narva said. “Collaboration between healthcare providers, innovators, and industry is absolutely critical for continued technological and scientific advancement. Transparency around these relationships is good for all stakeholders and will result in better decision-making at healthcare organizations of all kinds.”
The investment from Origin Ventures and others will accelerate growth of the Conflixis platform through the expansion of Conflixis’ rolodex of evidence-based influence models, as well as growing the company’s research and development teams.
“We see a tremendous opportunity in using data for smarter decision-making in healthcare,” Origin Ventures Principal Jacquie Marshall Siegmund said. “Conflixis is at the forefront of this transformation, providing innovative solutions that address critical challenges in conflicts management.”
