How the Canada-U.S. trade war may affect London's 2026 housing market
The U.S. has imposed roughly 45 per cent in duties and taxes on imports of Canadian softwood lumber, frustrating U.S. homebuilders, along with levies on steel, aluminum, autos and other sectors. It has also imposed a broad 35 per cent tariff on Canadian merchandise, though most goods are exempt if they comply with the existing trade deal.
