Inox Wind to invest ₹400 crore in new manufacturing facility in Karnataka
Manufacturer of wind turbine generators and components Inox Wind plans to invest ₹400 crore to set up a new manufacturing facility at the Kyadigoppa Industrial Area in Kushtagi taluk of Koppal district.
The project is expected to generate around 1,000 direct jobs, Large and Medium Industries Minister M. B. Patil said on Wednesday.
Land under the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has been allocated for the project. Of the total investment, ₹300 crore will be deployed in the first phase and ₹100 crore in the second, Patil said.
“The company’s Executive Director, Devansh Jain, had written to me requesting the allocation of 70 acres of land adjacent to the National Highway,” the minister said. “He explained that locating the unit in an area without wide, good-quality roads would not be viable for transporting massive blades and towers.”
Initially, the company had shown interest in setting up the plant in Vijayapura district. However, due to the absence of an industrial area adjacent to the National Highway there, suitable land could not be identified.
The proposed facility will manufacture wind turbine towers, including large blades and pillars, strengthening the company’s production capabilities and contributing to Karnataka’s growing renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem.
