A Kamloops man who won a half-million dollars in the lottery says he plans to buy a new truck and put the rest away for retirement.
Cory Turner won $500,000 after matching four Extra numbers on the Oct. 18 Lotto Max draw.
“I thought, ‘Did I really win?’ I had to check my PlayNow account a few times,” he said in a BCLC news release.
Turner bought the winning ticket online at PlayNow.com.
He said his family is psyched for him.
“They were all very excited,” he said.
Other than a celebratory dinner, Turner said he plans to purchase a new truck and squirrel the rest away for retirement.
